The proceeds will be directed towards maintaining the high growth rates that the company has recorded over the past 8 years
Grupo Brasfanta’s WOW! Nutrition, a leading player in the healthy food and beverage segments in Brazil, announces a partnership with One Equity Partners (“OEP”), the proprietary investment arm of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., through which OEP will obtain a relevant minority stake in the company. The funds will be used to support projects to take advantage of domestic market growth opportunities and new initiatives designed to maintain the 28% average annual growth rate that the company has recorded since 2003.
With this partnership, WOW!’s investment capacity will be strengthened, allowing the company to pursue an accentuated growth curve. The company projects revenues of R$ 570 million in 2012, which represents a growth rate of 26% compared to 2011. WOW! is increasing the productive capacity of its plants, currently employs 830 people and will launch a series of new products. This year, it will also improve the distribution reach of its products and grow the number of points of sale, which currently number 130,000.
WOW!’s management team will continue to be lead by Grupo Brasfanta. One Equity Partners will have an active role in the company’s board of directors.
