Lee Gardner joined OEP at its founding in 2001 and is a Managing Director based in the Detroit area and associated with the Chicago office. Mr. Gardner has an operations background and focuses his primary attention on the support of OEP portfolio companies. During his 14 years at OEP, Mr. Gardner has worked with and been on the boards of numerous portfolio companies. Mr. Gardner left OEP to become Chairman and CEO of Emcon, an OEP portfolio company. He returned to OEP following the 2010 sale of Emcon to Faurecia SA (EPA:EO) where he continues to serve on the Faurecia board as an independent director. Mr. Gardner is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Smartrac, Strike, East Balt and Anvil. He was previously a member of the boards of Mauser, Polaroid, Progress Rail, Emcon and Precision Gear.
Prior to joining OEP, Mr. Gardner was President and COO at MascoTech (NYSE:MSX), a diversified manufacturing company. Prior to his 14 years at MascoTech, Mr. Gardner spent 15 years with Borg-Warner (NYSE:BWA) in various manufacturing and corporate operations positions. Mr. Gardner holds an M.B.A. from the University of Utah and a B.S. in Business from Missouri State University.
